The Hope Blister was an ambient band active from 1997 to 1999. Led by 4AD Records founder Ivo Watts-Russell, the group included vocalist Louise Rutkowski, bassist Laurence O'Keefe, and cellist Audrey Riley. Their 1998 debut album, "...Smile's OK," featured cover versions of various songs. In 1999, they released "Underarms," comprising mostly instrumental tracks. Following Watts-Russell's departure from the music industry, the band disbanded. In 2005, an expanded version titled "Underarms and Sideways" was released, featuring remixes by Markus Guentner.
