The Jelly Bean Bandits were a psych-punk band from Newburgh, New York, formed in 1966. Originally known as "The Mirror," the band regularly performed at local venues such as Trade Winds and Buccaneer Nightclub. After recording a three-song demo, they secured a three-album contract with Mainstream Records. Their 1967 debut album, "The Jelly Bean Bandits," was recorded in 12 hours and featured tracks like "Country Woman" and "Generation." Despite the album becoming a cult classic, the label dropped them after its release, leaving it as their only official 1960s release.
