empty cell The Journeymen
The Journeymen were an American folk music trio active from 1961 to 1964, consisting of John Phillips, Scott McKenzie, and Dick Weissman. Formed in Greenwich Village, New York City, they were known for their harmonious vocals and musical proficiency. They released three albums: "The Journeymen" (1961), "Coming Attraction - Live!" (1962), and "New Directions In Folk Music" (1963). Their rendition of "500 Miles" is considered the first recording of this traditional song. After the group's dissolution, members pursued individual careers; John Phillips and Scott McKenzie achieved success in the 1960s, with Phillips as a member of The Mamas and the Papas and McKenzie with the hit "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)."
