The Kentucky Colonels were a bluegrass band formed in 1954 in Burbank, California, by brothers Roland (mandolin), Clarence (guitar), and Eric White Jr. (banjo, double bass). They released two studio albums: "The New Sound of Bluegrass America" (1963) and "Appalachian Swing!" (1964). Clarence White was renowned for his innovative guitar playing, which influenced the development of bluegrass music. The band disbanded in 1965 but briefly reunited in 1973.
