The Lost Words: Spell Songs is a musical project formed in 2018 as a companion piece to the book "The Lost Words" by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris. The ensemble comprises renowned musicians including Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Seckou Keita, Kris Drever, Rachel Newton, Beth Porter, and Jim Molyneux. Their debut album, "The Lost Words: Spell Songs," was released in July 2019, followed by their second album, "Spell Songs II: Let The Light In," in December 2021. The group's music blends elements of folk, experimental rock, classical, and traditional genres, creating a unique sound.
