The Melodians are a Jamaican rocksteady group formed in 1963 in Kingston. The original members were Tony Brevett, Brent Dowe, and Trevor McNaughton. The group is known for hits such as "Rivers of Babylon," "Sweet Sensation," and "Swing and Dine." Their music blends elements of ska, rocksteady, and reggae. They collaborated with producers like Leslie Kong, and their songs appeared on the soundtrack of the film "The Harder They Come." The group was active from 1963 to 1973 and later reunited occasionally.
