The Notations are an American soul group formed in the late 1960s in Chicago, Illinois. The original lineup consisted of Clifford Curry, LaSalle Matthews, and James Stroud. They recorded for Tad Records and later for Twinight Records, achieving success with the single "I'm Still Here." In 1973, they joined Curtom/Gemigo Records, releasing tracks like "It Only Hurts for a Little While" and "Think Before You Stop." Their music blends soulful ballads with socially conscious lyrics, earning them recognition in the Chicago music scene.
