The Pioneers are a Jamaican reggae, soul, and rocksteady vocal trio formed in 1962. Originally consisting of brothers Sydney and Derrick Crooks and their friend Winston Hewitt, the group underwent several lineup changes before disbanding in 1967. They later reformed with new members Jackie Robinson and George Agard. Among their most notable songs is "Long Shot Kick De Bucket," which became a hit in the United Kingdom in 1969.
