The Pooh Sticks were a Welsh indie pop band from Swansea, active between 1988 and 1995. The band was known for their melodic songs and lyrics that gently parodied the indie scene of the time, as in tracks like "On Tape" and "Indiepop Ain't Noise Pollution". In 1991, they released "The Great White Wonder", shifting from British indie pop to American-style power pop. This was followed by "Million Seller" (1993) and "Optimistic Fool" (1995).
