The Posies were an American power pop group formed in 1986 in Bellingham, Washington, by Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow. Their music was influenced by Merseybeat and bands like The Hollies, Hüsker Dü, XTC, Elvis Costello, and Squeeze. Notable albums include "Dear 23" (1990), "Frosting on the Beater" (1993), and "Amazing Disgrace" (1996).
