The Queers are an American punk rock band formed in 1981 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The original lineup consisted of Joe Queer (guitar, vocals), Tulu (bass), and Wimpy Rutherford (drums). The band is known for their style influenced by the Ramones and The Beach Boys, with lyrics often focusing on themes like girls, alcohol, and fun. Their most notable albums include "Love Songs for the Retarded" (1993), "Beat Off" (1994), "Move Back Home" (1995), and "Don't Back Down" (1996). Throughout their career, they collaborated with Ben Weasel of Screeching Weasel, and their music has influenced bands like Blink-182 and MxPx.
