The Rationals were an American rock band from Ann Arbor, Michigan, active from 1964 to 1970. Known for their R&B-influenced rock style, they achieved regional success with their cover of Otis Redding's "Respect," which reached number 92 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966. Their sole full-length album, "The Rationals," was released in 1970 on Crewe Records. After the band's dissolution, lead singer Scott Morgan continued his musical career with various Detroit-area groups, including Sonic's Rendezvous Band.
