The Screaming Blue Messiahs were a rock band formed in 1983 in London by guitarist and vocalist Bill Carter, bassist Chris Thompson, and drummer Kenny Harris. The band was active until 1990 and released three studio albums: "Gun-Shy" (1986), "Bikini Red" (1987), and "Totally Religious" (1989). Their music blended elements of rock, punk rock, and blues rock. Known for their energetic live performances, the band received critical acclaim. Their single "I Wanna Be a Flintstone" reached number 28 on the UK Singles Chart in 1988. After the band's dissolution, members pursued various musical projects.
