The Soft Pink Truth is the solo project of Drew Daniel, a member of the electronic duo Matmos. The project began in 2001 as a response to a challenge from producer Matthew Herbert for Daniel to create a house record. The debut album, "Do You Party?", was released in 2003 and included a cover of Vanity 6's "Make Up". The follow-up album, "Do You Want New Wave or Do You Want the Soft Pink Truth?", released in 2004, featured house versions of punk and hardcore songs. In 2014, he released "Why Do the Heathen Rage?", which contains electronic interpretations of black metal tracks. Daniel is also a member of Matmos and a professor of English literature.
