This Mortal Coil was a British musical collective formed in 1983 by Ivo Watts-Russell, founder of the independent label 4AD. The group was known for its atmospheric and ethereal soundscapes, blending elements of alternative rock, ambient, and dream pop. During its existence, they released three studio albums: "It'll End in Tears" (1984), "Filigree & Shadow" (1986), and "Blood" (1991). These albums featured both original compositions and covers of songs by various artists, with contributions from different musicians associated with 4AD, including members of Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance.
