Thomas Simaku is an Albanian-British composer born in 1958 in Kavajë, Albania. He studied composition at the Academy of Music and Arts of Albania and later earned a PhD at the University of York under David Blake. His works have been featured at international festivals, including the ISCM World Music Days and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. Notable awards include the British Composer Award for "Soliloquy V – Flauto Acerbo" and first prize at the International Competition for Lutosławski's 100th Birthday for "Concerto for Orchestra".
