Thorwald Jørgensen is a Dutch classical musician specializing in the theremin, an electronic musical instrument. Born in 1980 in Zaltbommel, he began playing percussion instruments at the age of 14. After graduating from the Utrecht Conservatory, he focused on the theremin, inspired by the work of Clara Rockmore. Jørgensen has performed over 100 concerts worldwide, including appearances in Saint Petersburg and a tour of the United States. In 2014, he performed at the Music and Beyond festival in Ottawa, and in 2015, he premiered Victor Herbiet's "Sirenum scopuli" at the X Rio Harp Festival in Rio de Janeiro. In 2023, he premiered Simon Bertrand's theremin concerto "Cinq moments dans la vie trépidante de Léon Théremine" with the Orchestre Métropolitain.
