Tigran Hamasyan is an Armenian jazz pianist and composer known for his unique fusion of jazz, progressive rock, and Armenian folk music. Born in 1987 in Gyumri, Armenia, he began playing piano at the age of three. In 2006, he won first place at the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition.
