Tim Barnes is an American percussionist known for collaborating with artists such as Jim O'Rourke, Wilco, Sonic Youth, Stereolab, Silver Jews, Tony Conrad, John Zorn, and Faust. In 2021, he was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Despite this, he continued his musical activities, releasing the albums "Lost Words" and "Noumena" in 2025 under the Quakebasket label. His music spans the genres of jazz, experimental, and electronic music.
