Timothy Ridout is a British violist who won first prize at the prestigious Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Kronberg Academy in Germany. Ridout has performed as a soloist with several prominent orchestras, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. His notable recordings include "Vieuxtemps: Complete Works for Viola" and "Music for Viola & Chamber Orchestra". He has collaborated with artists such as Joshua Bell and Janine Jansen. Ridout plays a viola made by Peregrino di Zanetto from 1565–75, on loan from the Beare's International Violin Society. The products available from the artist Timothy Ridout include CDs.
