Tony Mottola was an American jazz guitarist born in Kearny, New Jersey. He began his professional career in 1936 with George Hall's orchestra. Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, and Ray Conniff. He was a member of The Tonight Show Orchestra from 1958 to 1972. Mottola released numerous solo albums, including "Mr. Big" (1959) and "Roman Guitar" (1960). His musical style encompassed jazz and easy listening. In 1980, he began performing with Frank Sinatra, often in duets. Mottola won an Emmy Award for his music for the television documentary "Two Childhoods".
