Toots and the Maytals was a Jamaican music group formed in 1962. The original lineup included Frederick "Toots" Hibbert, Henry "Raleigh" Gordon, and Nathaniel "Jerry" Matthias. The band was instrumental in the development of reggae music; their 1968 song "Do the Reggay" is considered the first to use the term "reggae". Notable tracks include "54-46 That's My Number", "Monkey Man", and "Pressure Drop". They won Grammy Awards for the albums "True Love" in 2004 and "Got to Be Tough" in 2021.
