Trio Da Kali is a Malian musical group composed of three members: Hawa Kassé Mady Diabaté (vocals), Lassana Diabaté (balafon), and Mamadou Kouyaté (ngoni). In 2017, they collaborated with the American string ensemble Kronos Quartet on the album "Ladilikan," which features arrangements of Mahalia Jackson's songs and traditional pieces from the Mande repertoire. The album received the Songlines Music Award in the Fusion category. Trio Da Kali hails from a long line of distinguished griots, and their music is deeply rooted in Malian tradition.
