Trio Mediæval is a vocal trio founded in 1997 in Oslo, Norway. The original members were Anna Maria Friman, Linn Andrea Fuglseth, and Torunn Østrem Ossum. The group specializes in the interpretation of sacred monophonic and polyphonic medieval music from England, Italy, and France, as well as traditional Norwegian, Swedish, and Icelandic ballads and songs. Their debut album, "Words of the Angel" (2001), reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Classical chart. In 2009, the group was nominated for a Grammy Award for the album "Folk Songs." Trio Mediæval regularly collaborates with artists such as Gavin Bryars and John Potter and performs on significant stages worldwide.
