Trouble is an American doom metal band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1978. They are considered pioneers of doom metal and are often referred to as part of the genre's "big four" alongside Candlemass, Pentagram, and Saint Vitus. Their first two albums, "Psalm 9" and "The Skull," are regarded as landmark releases in doom metal. The band drew inspiration from British heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, as well as 1960s psychedelic rock. Throughout their career, they have released eight studio albums and underwent several lineup changes, with key members including guitarists Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin. Their music is characterized by slow tempos, heavy riffs, and spiritual lyrics.
