Edward Brian "Tubby" Hayes was a British jazz multi-instrumentalist, best known for his virtuosity on the tenor saxophone. Born in London, he began playing professionally at the age of 16. In 1957, he co-founded The Jazz Couriers with Ronnie Scott. Notable albums include "Tubby's Groove" (1959), "Tubbs in N.Y." (1961), and "Mexican Green" (1967). Hayes was recognized for his contributions to the British jazz scene and collaborated with artists such as Jimmy Deuchar and Stan Tracey.
