Turquoise was a psychedelic rock band from Southern California, originally known as Captain Speed. In 1967-68, they recorded two singles for the Arcade label and material for a planned LP, which remained unreleased until 2025. Their music featured baroque organ passages, psychedelic guitar riffs, and energetic drumming, with frontman Tim Pearson known for his lyrics. The band performed alongside artists like Grateful Dead, The Doors, and Jefferson Airplane. Keyboardist Bill Payne later co-founded Little Feat. The album 'The Return of Captain Speed' was remastered from original tapes and includes twelve tracks, comprising two singles and eight previously unreleased songs.
