U Brown, born Huford Brown, is a Jamaican reggae deejay who released eleven albums between 1976 and 1984. He grew up on Bond Street in Kingston, near the Treasure Isle studio. He began his career on the Silver Bullet sound system and later replaced U-Roy on King Tubby's Hi-Fi in 1975. Notable albums include "Satta Dread" (1976), "London Rock" (1977), and "Repatriation" (1979). In 1982, he achieved success with the song "Tu Sheng Peng". In 1977, he founded his own label, Hit Sound. In the 1980s, he relocated to Miami, returning to Jamaica in 1990. In 1997, Blood & Fire released a compilation of his 1970s work, leading to new recordings.
