Victor Julien-Laferrière is a French cellist and conductor who won the first prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2017. He studied under Roland Pidoux at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, Heinrich Schiff at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, and Clemens Hagen at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 2012, he secured the first prize at the Prague Spring International Competition. In 2018, he was awarded the Victoire de la Musique as "Best Instrumental Soloist". In 2021, he founded the Orchestre Consuelo, with which he recorded Brahms's serenades. His album of Dutilleux/Dusapin concertos with the Orchestre National de France received the Diapason d'Or in 2023.
