Yazz Ahmed, an Ivor Novello Award-winning artist, presents her fourth studio album, 'A Paradise In The Hold', releasing on February 28, 2025. This album is a profound exploration of her British-Bahraini heritage, blending traditional melodies with modern jazz. Inspired by the sorrowful songs of Bahrain's pearl divers and the celebratory rhythms of women's drumming circles, the album reflects Ahmed's decade-long journey of self-discovery. For the first time, she writes lyrics in both English and Arabic, adding a new dimension to her sound. Collaborators include vocalists Natacha Atlas and Brigitte Beraha, as well as percussionist Corrina Silvester.
