'Mother Engine' is the second album by New York duo Amiture, released on March 8, 2024. This vinyl offers a unique blend of industrial beats, gothic synthpop, and blues guitar riffs, creating a dark and captivating atmosphere. The album was recorded in an abandoned garage, where the band experimented with samples and collaborated with musicians like Matt Norman (Lily & Horn Horse) and experimentalist Henry Birdsey. The result is a complex sonic matrix that combines Jack Whitescarver's classically trained voice with Coco Goupil's gritty guitar sounds, drawing from traditions of American guitar music, industrial music, and folk melodies.
