'Stranger Inside' is the second solo album by Richard Barbieri, the legendary keyboardist of Japan and Porcupine Tree. Originally released in 2008, this album showcases unique soundscapes and synthesizer textures characteristic of Barbieri's style. The album features contributions from long-term collaborators such as Steve Jansen (mixing/co-arranging), Steven Wilson (mastering), Gavin Harrison (drums), and the legendary double bassist Danny Thompson. Although predominantly instrumental, many tracks include atmospheric manipulations of vocal samples from Tim Bowness and Suzanne Barbieri. This 2024 reissue is available on vinyl for the first time, presented as a 2LP in wide spine packaging.
