Description

'Blow Dry Colossus' is the latest solo album by Peter Brewis, known from Field Music, released on October 6, 2023. This predominantly instrumental album blends the exotica of Yellow Magic Orchestra, the jazz melodicism of Thelonious Monk, and the pastoral abstractions of Penguin Cafe Orchestra. With elements of 8-bit game soundtracks and the art of synthesizer music in the style of Kraftwerk, Brewis creates a playful chaos full of rhythmic ingenuity. The album was recorded at the Field Music studio in Sunderland and features contributions from his brother David, Sarah Hayes, and his son Alexander.
