Description

Released in 1988, "Kaira" is the debut album by kora master Toumani Diabaté. This album, the first international release featuring solely solo kora without vocals, instantly propelled Diabaté to fame and established the kora as one of Africa's most captivating and versatile indigenous instruments. Now, "Kaira" is reissued on 180g vinyl, remastered from the original production masters by Phil Kinrade and cut by Jasper Ward at AIR Mastering. The vinyl is housed in a poly-lined inner sleeve and includes a 12" x 12" double-sided insert with new sleeve notes and previously unseen photographs by co-producer Lucy Durán.
