Lee Konitz's "Tenorlee," originally released in 1978, has been remastered and reissued on December 1, 2023. This album is notable as Konitz, primarily known as an alto saxophonist, exclusively plays the tenor saxophone. The recording serves as a tribute to his friend, saxophonist Richie Kamuca, who passed away shortly before the session. Accompanied by pianist Jimmy Rowles and bassist Michael Moore, Konitz delivers jazz standards with unique lyricism and spontaneity. The remastered version restores the original title, track order, and artwork as intended in the initial release. Remastering was done by Alex McCollough at True East Mastering, and the vinyl was cut by Jeff Powell at Take Out Vinyl.
