Released on April 25, 2025, "Homage" is the second album by saxophonist Joe Lovano and the Polish Marcin Wasilewski Trio for ECM Records. This album showcases a deep collaboration between Lovano and the trio, jointly exploring free-flowing interaction and expansive improvisations. Lovano, known for his unique sound on tenor saxophone and tárogató, frequently switches to various percussion instruments, adding dynamism to their musical dialogue. The album features long compositions and the title track "Homage," highlighting their collective ability to create spontaneous and expressive musical landscapes. Recorded during their 2023 Village Vanguard residency, "Homage" captures the synergy and spiritual affinity among these exceptional musicians.
