Mahti, a Finnish four-piece ensemble, presents a unique blend of ambient-rock, electronic music, and traditional Finnish-Karelian sounds. Their second album, "Musiikki 2," features lengthy, semi-improvisational pieces built upon complex, hypnotic grooves layered with opaque guitars and soothing noise elements. At the heart of this sound is the kantele, an ancient Finnish string instrument played by Hannu Saha, an expert in Finnish folk music with nearly five decades of experience. The other members include Jussi Lehtisalo and Tomi Leppänen, who form the rhythmic core of the avant-rock group Circle, and psychiatrist Teemu Elo. This limited edition vinyl is pressed on transparent purple marble and is housed in a matte laminated outer sleeve with a polylined inner bag.
