Sonny Rollins, the legendary saxophonist, made his debut as a leader on the Blue Note label in 1956 with the album 'Volume 1'. This album features energetic originals and a tender ballad that showcase his robust sound and boundless improvisational creativity. He collaborated with outstanding musicians: Donald Byrd on trumpet, Wynton Kelly on piano, Gene Ramey on bass, and Max Roach on drums. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl edition is mono, fully analog, remastered by Kevin Gray from the original tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal. Release date: February 21, 2025.
