Description

Cecil Taylor, a pioneer of free jazz, made his Blue Note debut in 1966 with the album "Unit Structures." This album, releasing on August 18, 2023, as part of the Blue Note Classic Vinyl series, features four expansive compositions that push the boundaries of avant-garde jazz. Accompanied by talented musicians such as Eddie Gale (trumpet), Jimmy Lyons (alto saxophone), Ken McIntyre (alto saxophone, oboe, bass clarinet), Henry Grimes and Alan Silva (double basses), and Andrew Cyrille (drums), Taylor crafts intense and textured musical landscapes. This edition is stereo, all-analog, remastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
