Seven-time Grammy Award winner Vince Mendoza collaborates with the Metropole Orkest to present "Olympians". This vinyl features nine original compositions written by Mendoza during his 27-year association with the orchestra. The album is enriched by vocals from Dianne Reeves on "Esperanto" with lyrics by Kurt Elling, and Cécile McLorin Salvant on "House of Reflections" with lyrics by Norma Winstone. Saxophonist Chris Potter brings energy to "Barcelona", while David Binney and Alex Acuña contribute their unique musical talents. "Olympians" is a celebration of jazz orchestral music at its finest.
