This album brings to life painful memories of surviving genocide and honors those who did not, primarily telling the stories of these people's lives. The album is linguistically and musically diverse, featuring songs in Greek, Ladino, Yiddish, Hebrew, and Czech; music from concentration camps and ghettos in Vilnius, Warsaw, and Łódź; cabaret and theater music from around the world – adapted to tell stories of suffering and betrayal, hope and loss.
