Walter Smith III is an American jazz saxophonist and composer born in 1980 in Houston, Texas. He studied at Berklee College of Music and the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. He has released several albums as a leader, including "Casually Introducing" (2006), "Live in Paris" (2009), "Still Casual" (2014), and "Twio" (2018). Smith has collaborated with artists such as Terence Blanchard, Roy Haynes, and Christian McBride. He is known for his contributions to post-bop jazz and serves as the Chair of the Woodwind Department at Berklee College of Music.
