Warlord is an American heavy metal band formed in 1980 by guitarist William J. Tsamis and drummer Mark S. Zonder. The band is known for its epic metal style, combining melodic elements with complex arrangements. Their debut EP "Deliver Us" (1983) and the subsequent album "And the Cannons of Destruction Have Begun..." (1984) achieved cult status among genre enthusiasts. After several hiatuses and lineup changes, Warlord released "Rising Out of the Ashes" in 2002 and "The Holy Empire" in 2013.
