Warrel Dane was an American heavy metal vocalist, known as the frontman of Nevermore and previously Sanctuary. In 2008, he released his first solo album, "Praises to the War Machine", produced by Peter Wichers of Soilwork. The album includes cover versions of "Lucretia My Reflection" by The Sisters of Mercy and "Patterns" by Paul Simon. Dane was working on his second solo album, "Shadow Work", before his death in December 2017; the album was posthumously released in 2018.
