Watain is a Swedish black metal band formed in 1998 in Uppsala. The original lineup consisted of Erik Danielsson (vocals, bass), Pelle Forsberg (guitar), and Håkan Jonsson (drums). The band has released seven studio albums, including 'Sworn to the Dark' (2007), 'Lawless Darkness' (2010), and 'The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain' (2022). Their music combines traditional black metal with melodic elements. Watain has collaborated with bands such as Dissection and Funeral Mist.
