Wayne Cochran was an American singer known for his distinctive platinum blond pompadour hairstyle and energetic performances. Between 1959 and 1966, he released several singles and albums, including "Wayne Cochran!" and "Alive & Well and Living... In a Bitch of a World". His most notable song is "Last Kiss", which he wrote and originally recorded, though later cover versions achieved greater success. Cochran was influenced by and friends with Otis Redding and James Brown, reflecting in his style that combined rock and roll, R&B, and soul. After his music career, he became an evangelical minister in Miami, Florida.
