Weather Report was an American jazz fusion band active from 1970 to 1986. Founded by keyboardist Joe Zawinul, saxophonist Wayne Shorter, and bassist Miroslav Vitouš, the group was known for its innovative approach to jazz fusion, blending jazz with rock, funk, and world music. Their most notable albums include "Heavy Weather" (1977), "Black Market" (1976), and "Mysterious Traveller" (1974). The track "Birdland" became a jazz standard. Throughout their career, they collaborated with numerous prominent musicians and received several awards, including a Grammy for the album "8:30" (1979).
