Weird Herald was a psychedelic folk-rock band from Los Gatos, California, active in the late 1960s. The group consisted of Billy Dean Andrus (guitar/vocals), Paul Ziegler (guitar/vocals), Cecil Bollinger (bass), and Patrick McIntire (drums). In 1968, they released a promotional single "Saratoga James" / "Just Yesterday" and recorded a full album that was never officially released. Their music blended folk, country, and rock, drawing influences from bands like Moby Grape and Jefferson Airplane. Andrus was a close friend of Skip Spence and Jorma Kaukonen, with whom he frequently collaborated. In 1970, Andrus died of a drug overdose, leading to the band's dissolution. In 2025, the album "Just Yesterday" was released with bonus tracks and detailed liner notes.
