Wendy O. Williams was an American singer known as the frontwoman of the punk rock band Plasmatics. After three albums with the band, she embarked on a solo career, releasing "WOW" (1984), "Kommander of Kaos" (1986), and "Deffest! and Baddest!" (1988). Her music spanned genres such as punk rock, heavy metal, and rap rock. She collaborated with Gene Simmons of KISS on "WOW" and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance in 1985. After retiring from music, she dedicated herself to animal rescue and health food activism.
