empty cell Westminster Abbey Choir
The Westminster Abbey Choir, established in the 14th century, comprises approximately thirty boys attending the Westminster Abbey Choir School and twelve professional adult singers known as Lay Vicars. The choir regularly performs at state and national events and sings evensong daily except on Wednesdays. Notable recordings include "Music for Remembrance" and "Parry: I Was Glad & Other Choral Works." Specializing in classical and religious music, their repertoire spans from the Renaissance to contemporary works. In 2012, the choir accepted an invitation from Pope Benedict XVI to perform jointly with the Sistine Chapel Choir at a Papal Mass in St. Peter's Basilica.
